Present Activities

ICRSD has had more than 10,000,00 handicapped members.

The organization is now working on the following fields.

  • Counseling to both parents and beneficiaries for their treatment (those. who are already handicapped) education, vocational training, Placement Concessions and facilities available from the Govt. authority and also for the socio-economic rehabilitation.
  • Issuing identity cards to the members only for the easy identification and travel facilities given admissible by the authority.
  • Organizing educational tour and travels and recreational activities and cultural functions by disable artists.
  • Organizing seminar , workshop, exhibition and camps on prevention of handicapped, we send expert team to the rural areas and try to work in the communities as far as possible (C.B R).
  • We have lands and sheds at Kasba Industrial Est. Calcutta and at the Kalyani Industrial Est. Nadia District at the moment. We are running a "Training Cum Production Centre" in different vocational trades for the disabled youth. We give stipends to the handicapped trainees.
  • Self and sheltered employment, as the opportunities in the open employment is grossly curbed for the disable youth. We encourage for sheltered employment and self employment for them. We put them for short loans to financial agencies for opening small business. We help them for obtaining marketing which is of course very difficult for the handicapped entrepreneurs.
  • Sports: We organize local and National sports meets every year. We sent the teams (India) to Seoul Paralympics. Barcelona Paralympic and Marathon for the Blind (International) in Japan and good will sports meet in Australia and other places.

This is an Appeal for Donation for the Construction of Residential Hostel for the Handicapped Students.

We need Donations on Plot of Land in Kolkata or nearby suburbs. We shall GIVE FREE VOCATIONAL TRAINING at our centre at the Kasba Industrial Estate Kolkata.

Indian Council of Rehabilitation & Sports For The Disabled , India Donations are exempted from U/S 80G of act 1961.
